Christus Manseonum Benedicat!
Genesis 12:1-3
The Lord had said to Abraham, "Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you.
"I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
and curse those who curse you;
and all peoples on the earth
will be blessed through you."
EQ: Can we deal with controversial matters and still bless those around us, even when we disagree? This is a skill we will hone this semester.
Journal 1: The Story I Know
Write 1/2-a full page of bullet point notes and questions about what you already know about immigration. Why is it so controversial in the U.S.? What questions would you like answered about this issue?
Would you pass a citizenship test?
If time, let's begin talking about our topic with some vocab.
(I suggest creating some sort of mind map in your journal to show how these terms relate to each other.)
