• Review Ch. 8 & Journal 17 What do you think about Doc's spirituality? 
• Journal 18: Consider the fishbowl...write down at least two of the discussion questions that you thought were most interesting.
• Now practice writing a debatable thesis by answering those questions. Here are a few examples to model your format after:

1. Although Hoppie does not appear to show signs of racism towards Peekay, he does exhibit racism toward others.
2. Even though Mevrou is not exactly warm and fuzzy, she does show signs of caring about Pisskop.
3. Even though some might say Peekay's innocence as a child makes him weak, his innocence is actually beneficial to his survival.

                  (Notice that they start with a dependent clause that reveals the opposing view)

• Now pick two theses to support. Then find at least two quotes that you believe can prove your stance in  each.
